The Malaghan Institute is an independent research facility and a registered charity, and is based at Victoria University’s Kelburn campus in Wellington.

At the Malaghan Institute they believe that the key to fighting these illnesses lies in harnessing the immune system, the body’s own natural defence against disease.
The Institute has a strong commitment to educating, fostering and developing scientists, which it regards as essential to the continuing success of scientific research in New Zealand.
