Leigh Marine Laboratory

The Leigh Marine Laboratory is a research and teaching facility maintained by The University of Auckland.

The laboratory is situated on the shores of the Cape Rodney-Ōkakari Point Marine Reserve (commonly known as the Goat Island Marine Reserve). This proximity to a unique marine environment allows the researchers to study marine organisms and ecosystems right on their doorstep.

Facilities at the laboratory include research laboratories, accommodation and the Goat Island Marine Discovery Centre, which is open to schools and the public.
